What to do when the peas start growing higher than the trellis?
Today was a garden harvest kind of day… we’ve been having scrambled eggs and kale, kale salad, kale chips, and just needed something new for the forest of kale in our garden

Between a 2km hike around Spectacle Lake, and a swim in our favorite local river the Koksilah, we came home today for a lunch of barley stirred up with Kale Pesto, arugula, grated beet, cheese, pecans, and dried cranberry. YUMM!

That hit the spot.

The swim AND the kale pesto…


Kale Pesto: Blend 6 oz kale with 1 Tbsp lemon juice and 1/2c olive oil in the food processor. Be prepared to mix it with other foods and flavors, on its own, it is rather…. kale-y! Not a surprise!
